As President, Arman has been responsible for building Cariden into a highly profitable and respected business. He continues to lead the company as it strengthens its position as the networking industry’s de facto standard for IP/MPLS capacity planning and traffic engineering. Prior to founding Cariden in 2001, Arman held management, software development, and research positions at Apple Computer, Coral Software, Fidelity Investments, and Advanced Telecommunications Research Labs. Arman holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Harvey Mudd College, and Master’s degrees in Computer Science and Statistics from Yale and Stanford Universities, respectively. He also has a Doctorate in Linguistics from Stanford where he was honored as a Hertz Fellow.

Arash defines the Company’s technological vision. Prior to founding Cariden in 2001, Arash had roles leading engineering at companies such as Apple Computer, Microsoft, Broadbase Software, and Vertical Networks where he was the principal architect of their award-winning network management software. Arash has a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Sharif University in Iran. He has also done post-graduate work in computer science at Amir Kabir and Stanford Universities.

Cesar is responsible for driving the engineering of Cariden’s industry-leading traffic management products. Prior to joining Cariden in 2004, Cesar led software engineering at Barcelona Design. Cesar holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina in Brazil. He also has a Doctorate in Electrical Engineering from Stanford where he developed automated methods for analysis of convexity properties of nonlinear optimization problems.

Chris joined Cariden in March 2012 to lead the sales organization to new heights. Prior to Cariden, Chris spent almost ten years at Packet Design Inc. where he was Regional Vice President, East Region (North America) leading sales of their IP routing tools to service provider and enterprise customers. Chris has spent 20 years gaining broad experience in a variety of sales leadership roles at thePlatform (acquired by Comcast), Alcatel, Interspeed and Brooktrout Technology. Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications from Curry College.

Thomas heads up Cariden operations in Europe, Middle East, and Africa, as well as having direct responsibility for Network Consulting in the region. Thomas was on our advisory board before joining Cariden permanently in 2004. Prior to that, he was responsible for global network architecture at companies such as Global Crossing, AT&T-Unisource Communications Services, SURFnet, and others. Thomas is a frequent speaker at industry conferences, including NANOG and RIPE, and has published many papers on network design, modeling, traffic management, and related subjects. He is also a contributor to the IETF.

Peter heads up Cariden operations in APAC, as well as having direct responsibility for Network Consulting in the region. Prior to joining Cariden in 2007, Peter held various senior network-engineering positions for NTT America where he spent twelve years building and operating their global networks, including architecting their IP/MPLS backbone covering Asia Pacific, the United States, and Europe. Peter contributes to the networking community through active involvement in industry bodies: currently he co-chairs the IETF Global Routing Operations (GROW) working group and he was formerly heavily involved in the IEEE 802 Higher Speed Study Group, which defined the requirements for Ethernet speeds greater than 10 gigabits.

Jeffrey is leading the expansion of Cariden’s business portfolio into adjacent markets and supporting the sales organization. Prior to joining Cariden, Jeffrey worked did technology investing at American Capital. Jeffrey also has extensive networking industry experience gained during roles co-founding iPath Technologies and building Verizon’s first national MPLS/IP backbone.
Jeffrey has an MBA from the Sloan School of Management at MIT and a BS from the University of Rhode Island.

His industry experience includes management and consulting roles for leading networking vendors including Juniper Networks, Cisco Systems, Nortel, Extreme, and Fujitsu. At these companies he held leading roles in identifying and acting upon emerging trends and technologies for both service providers and enterprises. His professional background also includes application development, training and product management for compilers and system software tools. Alan has a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts and Computer Science from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and a Master’s in Humanities from San Francisco State University.

Drawing on his extensive experience in the development and productization of applied mathematical optimization software, Alan drives strategic product direction for Cariden, including overseeing Product Management and Product Design. Prior to founding Cariden in 2001, Alan held a variety of senior positions at Broadbase Software, EFG Software, and AT&T Labs. Alan has a Bachelor’s degree in Math and Statistics from the University of Natal, and a PhD in Statistics from Stanford where he designed statistical and optimization methods for large-scale systems.
