		Cariden conducted an investigation of metric-based traffic engineering and explicit routing on six real networks. The study points to the surprising conclusion that metric-based control of routing, despite its theoretical limitations, performs well for real operational networks.

		Cariden Technologies announces the availability of its metric-based traffic engineering software for IP networks. This software, which is part of the MATE Framework for capacity planning and traffic engineering, allows optimal control of routing traffic without requiring Layer 2 technologies such as MPLS or ATM.
