Cariden is presenting “Metric-based Traffic Engineering: Panacea or Snake Oil? A Real-World Study.” This presentation summarizes a Cariden investigation of metric-based traffic engineering and explicit routing on six real networks. The study points to the surprising conclusion that metric-based control of routing, despite its theoretical limitations, performs well for real operational networks.
